Is the buzzer really accurate enough for fair play?
Yes. Quizado uses server-side timestamps to determine the actual buzz order. Even when player phones are on different networks, the system compensates for latency so the actual fastest tap wins. We have tested at sub-100ms accuracy in real bar wifi conditions.
Do players need to install an app?
No. The buzzer runs in any phone browser. Players scan a QR code and the buzzer screen loads instantly. There is nothing to install or sign up for.
How many players can buzz in at once?
There is no practical limit. The buzz-in mechanic works the same with 5 teams or 500 players. Server-side resolution scales horizontally so you can run buzzer rounds at large events.
What happens if a player has a slow connection?
The system compensates for network latency in both directions. A player with slightly slower wifi will not lose to a player with fast wifi if their actual tap was faster. We measure the round-trip time and adjust the timestamps accordingly.
Can I use the buzzer for non-trivia events?
Yes. Quizado supports buzzer-only rounds without any quiz content - useful for game-show segments, debate competitions or any time you need a live first-to-respond moment. Just set up an empty board and use the buzzer round type.
