Slides With Friends Alternative

A Slides With Friends alternative for a proper game show

Slides With Friends turns a meeting deck into something people join in with: icebreakers, word clouds, photo slides and a short quiz. Quizado is aimed at the other kind of evening, where teams take a table, a host works a microphone and the leaderboard is on the wall.

The short answer

Slides With Friends is a deck that a group joins in with; Quizado is a game show that a room competes in, so once your trivia grows past a short template with individual answers, they are no longer the same job.

Por que Trocar de Slides With Friends?

Ten people on the free tier

Their free plan is listed at 10 players (slideswith.com/pricing, checked August 2026). A department social passes 10 before the drinks arrive.

The Quizado free plan runs sixteen players, and every paid plan lifts the cap entirely. Nothing about the game changes as the room grows, only the number of names on the board.

Paying monthly costs a lot more than paying yearly

Their monthly option is sold as a 30-day period and costs more per month than the same tier billed yearly. Check their site for current pricing.

If your trivia night is a trial rather than a commitment, that gap matters. Quizado has a free plan for the trial and monthly plans that do not punish you for staying flexible.

A meeting slot is not a night

Their templates are timed for the job they do, which is a slot inside a meeting. Good for a Friday call. Short for a Thursday in a bar.

A Quizado night is assembled from rounds and runs as long as you want it to. Four rounds and a wager finish is a comfortable two hours without anyone building a deck.

Warm and friendly beats competitive

Icebreakers, photo slides and sound reactions are designed to make a group comfortable. A trivia crowd wants the opposite: stakes, a countdown and somebody losing narrowly.

Knockout rounds eliminate wrong answers, Wager rounds let a team stake points before the question appears, and in a Buzzer Race the host console locks the first buzz it receives. The night is a contest, not a warm-up.

Slides do not hold scoring rules

A slide can hold a question and collect an answer. It cannot know that this round is Everyone Scores, or that the wager was doubled, or that this team is already out.

In Quizado those rules are the round type. You choose Everyone Scores or Knockout, and the scoring, the elimination and the display all follow without any manual bookkeeping.

Nothing built for a venue

Meeting tools do not think about a second site, a house question library or the same twelve teams turning up every week under the same names.

Quizado carries venues, teams and a shared question library, with leagues and seasons from Trivia Pro. The Hospitality Group plan covers up to three venues from a single account.

O que Torna o Quizado Diferente

Construido do zero para bar trivia moderno e eventos ao vivo.

Family Feud and Jeopardy

Two host-run game shows on the Hospitality Group plan. The host reads the prompt, teams answer out loud, and points are awarded from the console. This is the format people film and put online.

Five ways to score a round

Buzzer Race, Everyone Answers, Everyone Scores, Knockout and Wager, with Music Bingo as a sixth on Hospitality Group. The scoring rule is part of the round, so one set of questions can feel completely different depending on how you run it.

Buzzers on the phones in the room

In a Buzzer Race round the host console locks the first buzz it receives and puts that team on the display, so everyone in the room sees the same result.

A display for the back wall

The external display window carries the question, the timer and the standings to a TV or projector, while the host keeps the answer key on their own screen.

Teams, leagues and seasons

Scores belong to teams, and from Trivia Pro teams can be tracked across a season. That is what converts a good one-off into a fixture people plan their week around.

Content without the build

Question packs come with the plan, and from Trivia Pro AI generation turns a topic into a bar trivia round. Nobody has to lay out a deck before a Thursday night.

What Slides With Friends does and what it costs

Slides With Friends is an interactive presentation platform for meetings, training, events and team building. It offers live audience polling, live word clouds, photo sharing, live quizzing, icebreaker activities, multiple choice and text answers and live sound reactions. Participants join by scanning a QR code shown in the deck, and the template library is sized and timed for a meeting slot.

Their plans run Free, Starter, Pro and a custom Enterprise tier, billed yearly or as a 30-day monthly period. The free plan hosts up to 10 players (slideswith.com/pricing, checked August 2026), and each paid tier raises that. Check their site for current pricing before you commit to a tier.

None of that is criticism. For a distributed team that wants a shared thirty minutes on a Friday, a template you can run straight out of the box is exactly right, and the icebreaker library removes the hardest part, which is deciding what to do. The question is only whether that shape stretches to the night you are actually planning.

An icebreaker and a trivia night are different animals

An icebreaker exists to lower the temperature. Nobody should feel bad, nobody should be eliminated, and the whole thing should be over before anyone gets restless. Photo slides and sound reactions are perfect tools for that.

A trivia night raises the temperature on purpose. Teams take a name and defend it. Somebody stakes twelve points on a question they half know. A knockout round leaves four tables standing and the rest heckling. The leaderboard between rounds is the reason people order another drink instead of going home at nine.

Software that is built for the first case does the second case politely rather than well. That is why Quizado leads with round types, buzzers, team scores and a display window: those are the parts that only matter once the game is the event rather than the warm-up to one.

What a game show needs that a deck does not

The first requirement is two screens with different content. The host must see the answer, the timer and every team score. The room must see the question and nothing else. A single shared deck cannot do that, which is why hosts running quizzes from slides end up with a printed answer key next to the laptop.

The second is scoring that lives in the software. Everyone Scores puts every table on the board. Knockout removes teams that get it wrong. Wager takes a stake before the question appears. In Buzzer Race the host console locks the first buzz it receives. Each of those changes what a correct answer is worth, and none of them can be represented by a slide.

The third is continuity. Teams, seasons, a venue question library and a running table are what turn one good night into a booking every week. The venues that stay are almost always the ones running a season rather than a series of unrelated evenings.

Who should stay, who should switch

Stay with Slides With Friends if...

It is a well-made product and there are plenty of rooms where it is the better pick.

  • +Your main need is meeting icebreakers and team-building sessions
  • +You want photo slides, word clouds and sound reactions in the mix
  • +A ready-made slide template is the appeal
  • +You present to several hundred people at once and want one yearly bill

Come to Quizado if...

These four are the usual reasons somebody outgrows a deck.

  • +The trivia is the event, and it needs to fill an evening
  • +You want a game show, with a host on a microphone and a panel on screen
  • +Teams, buzzers and elimination rounds are the point, not a nice extra
  • +You are running it in a venue and need a season table and your own logo

How to switch in 3 steps

1

Try one round, not one night

Open a free Quizado account and run a single Buzzer Race round with whoever is nearby. It takes about ten minutes and it shows you the difference between a deck and a game faster than any description.

2

Move your best questions across

On Trivia Pro, take the questions from the template that always lands and paste them into a round, then choose a round type that suits them. The same content plays harder once a wager is attached.

3

Give the night a season

Put the QR code on the tables, let people form teams, and on Trivia Pro start a league so the standings carry to the next one. That is the change that makes people come back.

What Slides With Friends does better

Their template library is the strongest part of the product and we have nothing like it for meetings. Photo sharing, word clouds, sound reactions and icebreaker flows are all outside what Quizado does, and their higher tiers reach a larger audience than we would recommend putting through a trivia night. If your job is running good meetings for a distributed team, they are the better tool and we would not argue otherwise.

For a short quiz in a meeting, yes, and the templates make it quick. For a two-hour venue night you will miss team scoring, buzzer races, elimination and wager rounds, a private host view and a season table. Those are game mechanics rather than slide features.
In Family Feud and Jeopardy the host reads the prompt aloud, players answer out loud, and the host awards points from the console. Nobody types. It needs somebody confident with a microphone, and it is the format that makes a room loud.
It is much better with two. The host device shows answers and controls, and the external display window goes to the TV or projector. On a video call you share the display window instead. One screen works for a casual game, but the room will see the answer key.
By scanning a QR code with a phone camera, which opens the player page in the browser. No app install and no account. Latecomers can join a game that has already started, which matters in a bar and not much in a meeting.
Yes. Start free with Bar Trivia, the built-in question packs, big-screen themes, one venue and up to sixteen players, with no card required. Writing your own question sets starts on Trivia Pro, which also lifts the player cap and adds media rounds, monthly AI credits, leagues and a custom logo. Family Feud, Jeopardy and Music Bingo are on Hospitality Group.
Yes. Share the display window on the call and send the join link. In a Buzzer Race round the host console locks the first buzz it receives. Bear in mind that host-run formats need somebody willing to talk for an hour.
No. There is audience voting inside a game round, but no word clouds, no photo slides and no icebreaker library. Quizado only builds trivia and game-show formats, so a meeting tool and Quizado can happily sit side by side.
