Quiz Meisters have run weekly pub trivia across Australia for years and their hosts are booked out in the busy suburbs. Quizado is the software a pub, club or bistro uses to start its own trivia night this week, on the screens already on the wall.
Quizado is the Quiz Meisters alternative for an Australian venue that cannot get a slot or wants the night on its own terms: your staff on the mic, punters answering from their phones, and scores on the screen above the bar instead of a clipboard.
A touring trivia company will not put two shows on the same night in the same suburb, and a pub two streets away often has the Wednesday already.
Nobody allocates territory for software. Run yours on the night that suits your bistro covers, even if the pub around the corner runs one too.
Host networks build out from the capitals. If your club is three hours from the nearest metro, you are further down the list than a pub in the inner city.
A connection and a screen are the only requirements. A club in a regional town runs exactly the same game as a bar in Fitzroy.
When the punters say they are going to the trivia rather than to your pub, the loyalty sits with the production. If the booking ends, so does the crowd.
From Trivia Pro upwards the screen carries your logo and your colours, and the league table is run under your name. The night becomes part of the venue.
A booked show costs the same in a wet week as a full one. On a slow Tuesday with two tables in, it is the first line a manager questions.
Start on the free plan with the built-in starter packs and pay nothing until the room is big enough to need a paid one. See the pricing page for the current plans.
A booking gives you one strong night. Sunday afternoon, the members draw and the function room upstairs are still empty diary slots.
Once you have the software you can run a music bingo arvo, a Family Feud for a footy club function or a Jeopardy board for a staff Christmas do at no extra cost.
A good trivia night entertains a room once. Making it the thing people book a table for takes something that carries over from week to week.
Leagues and seasons, from Trivia Pro up, keep a running table across the term, so the team in third has a reason to come back and have another go at the top.

The external display window shows the question, the timer and the ladder on any TV or projector. If the bistro already has screens for the footy, you have what you need.
Punters scan a QR code and play in the browser they already have open. There is nothing to hand out at the door and nothing to count back in at close.
In a Buzzer Race round the host console locks the first buzz it receives and shows the queue in order, so you always have one ruling to work from.
Two host-run game show formats on Hospitality Group. The host reads, the teams shout, the host awards the points. Good for a club function or a sporting group dinner.
Leagues run results across weeks, from Trivia Pro up. Print the ladder and put it behind the bar, and the regulars will check it before they order.
Type a topic and AI generation writes the bar trivia round, so the local footy club or the street the pub sits on can have its own category. Monthly AI credits start on Trivia Pro.
Quiz Meisters run weekly pub trivia shows, custom corporate events and interactive entertainment across Australia (quizmeisters.com, checked August 2026). Their pitch is a produced show: cross-generational questions, their trademark onscreen videos and interactive live games, run by a host from a national network.
The site lists venues across NSW, ACT, NT, QLD, SA, TAS, VIC and WA, plus rooms in the USA and New Zealand. They also run Survey Says, described as survey-based audience-opinion trivia in the Family Feud shape, where teams score by guessing the popular answer. Venues can arrange a weekly night or hire them for a one-off. No rate is published, so ask them for a quote.
That is a serious operation and a produced show is genuinely hard to match with a laptop. The question for a licensee is not whether their night is good. It is whether you can get one, on the night you want, in the suburb you trade in, and whether the weekly fee makes sense against your Tuesday covers.
A suburban pub with a public bar wants a loud night that starts at seven and empties the kitchen. A licensed club wants something the members will sit through between the raffle and the meat tray. A bistro wants covers on a Tuesday and a room that does not get so rowdy the diners leave. The same booked show has to serve all three.
Running it yourself lets you shape it to the room. Five bar trivia round types are available: Buzzer Race, Everyone Answers, Everyone Scores, Knockout and Wager, with Music Bingo making a sixth on Hospitality Group. A club night can be four gentle rounds of Everyone Answers with a wager to finish. A public bar can be Buzzer Race and Knockout, fast and loud. A bistro can be three short rounds between courses.
You also get the rest of the week. Name That Tune fills a slow Thursday. Family Feud, Jeopardy and Music Bingo are on Hospitality Group, and they turn a function booking or a Sunday arvo into a show without hiring anyone. One plan covers all of it, because the formats live in the same app rather than in separate products.
The practical path is short. Make a free account, load one of the built-in starter packs, plug a laptop into the screen behind the bar and open the display window. Put the QR code on the tables. The staff run a practice game on a quiet arvo so the first real night is not the first time anyone has seen it.
Pick the host on personality, not on seniority. The console shows the next question and the answer, and the scoring is automatic, so the job is reading clearly and keeping the room moving. Apps exist for Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, iPadOS and Android as well as the browser, so the host can work from whatever is behind the bar.
Then give it a season. Announce ten weeks, open a league on Trivia Pro, and put the ladder on the wall where the members can see it. Getting people to turn up on week three is the real work, and a ladder does more for that than any feature.
A produced show with a professional host beats a laptop in plenty of rooms.
The four reasons Australian venues give for doing it themselves.
Run a full game with the staff before opening, on the free plan with a built-in starter pack. Everyone learns the console, the screen setup gets sorted, and no punter watches the first mistake.
You are not choosing from a host calendar any more, so choose the night the bistro is quietest and the staff you want on the mic are actually rostered.
Announce a ten week season and start the league table, which comes in on Trivia Pro, from the first game. Put the standings on the wall so teams see where they sit before they order.
Trivia companies in Australia are always auditioning hosts, and if you are one of them you already carry the hardest part of this job. You know how a Tuesday room behaves and how to fill three minutes while the bistro clears plates.
Quizado gives a freelance host their own kit. Start free with the built-in starter packs to trial a venue nobody covers. Trivia Pro is where writing your own question sets starts, and it puts your logo on the display instead of a company one, adds media rounds with image, audio and video, gives you monthly AI credits for new material between gigs, and runs leagues so a licensee can see the night building. Hospitality Group covers up to three venues, adds custom fonts and colours, and adds Family Feud, Jeopardy and Music Bingo for function work, which is often better paid than a weekly.
Everything runs from a laptop or tablet, so you travel no heavier than you do now. Question sets you write stay in your account and can be reused across every room you play. Read your own agreement before taking a booking near a venue you already cover for a company.
Quiz Meisters have years of production behind them, a national host network and their own video content, and they turn up and run the room for you. Quizado does none of that. We do not send a person, we do not produce video for your night, and we do not write a fresh show every week. We are the console the host drives, and it needs an internet connection to work. If your venue wants a finished show delivered, they are selling one.
