From preparation to the first round

Step 1

Start with the people in the room

Ask about favorite films, music, places and everyday interests. Review the questions for your group; do not assume everyone shares the same memories or background.

Step 2

Pick a format with a comfortable way to answer

For participation without personal phones, choose Family Feud or Jeopardy on Hospitality Group. Read the prompt aloud, invite spoken answers and use the host controls to award points.

Step 3

Set up and check the room

Use a host device and a TV or projector. Check visibility from the seats, reduce distractions and test any audio at a comfortable volume. Rehearse with your activity team before inviting residents.

Step 4

Host a short session, with breaks

Prepare a small selection of questions and allow time for conversation between them. Offer team participation or observation, and adapt the session to the people attending.

A sample 30-minute activity

Allow 5 minutes for a welcome and practice question, 15 minutes for a short game, and 10 minutes for conversation and a closing round. Treat this as a starting point for your activity schedule, not a required pace.

Before you host

Do residents need a smartphone?+

No personal phones are needed for host-led Family Feud or Jeopardy with spoken answers and host scoring. Bar Trivia is a different format and needs connected player devices.

Which plan includes those game shows?+

Family Feud and Jeopardy are included with Hospitality Group. The free starter experience is Bar Trivia for up to 16 players; it does not include these game shows. See pricing before choosing your activity format.

Can we use it if the activity room has unreliable internet?+

Use the app to download the Family Feud or Jeopardy sets while connected, then test offline playback before the session. Phone participation and online media need a connection.
