This works on every plan and in every game: Trivia, Family Feud and Jeopardy. You need a laptop that can connect to the TV or projector, with an HDMI cable or an adapter.
Connect the TV as a second screen
Plug the TV or projector into your laptop. In your computer's display settings, choose to extend the desktop, not to mirror it. Then the TV is a second screen and the room does not see your laptop.
Open the game screen
Start your game to reach the host panel. Click Game Screen in the top bar. A new window opens with the join QR code and the game.
Drag the window to the TV
Drag the game screen window across the edge of your laptop screen onto the TV.
Go full screen
On the TV, click the Fullscreen button, the expand icon in the top-right corner of the game screen. Press Esc to leave full screen.
Run the game from your laptop
Keep the host panel on your laptop screen. You see the correct answers and the controls there. The room sees only what the game screen shows.
Show the join QR for late teams
In a Trivia game, click Highlight QR in the top bar to show the join QR code full screen on the TV. Click Minimize QR to put it back in the corner.
Tips
- If the whole laptop screen shows on the TV, your computer mirrors the display. Switch it to extend in the display settings.
- Some browsers block sound until you click the game screen once. If the button reads Tap for sound - audio only plays in fullscreen, click it.
- If nothing opens when you click Game Screen, allow pop-up windows for app.quizado.com and click it again.
Questions
Can the room see the answers?
No. The answers show on your host panel. The game screen shows an answer only when you reveal it.
Can I use a separate computer for the TV instead?
Yes. The game screen address ends in /display/ and your venue number. Open it in the browser of the computer connected to the TV. It needs no login.
Does this work for Family Feud and Jeopardy?
Yes. Every game has the same Game Screen button in the top bar.
