This works for Trivia on every plan. Players answer on their own phone or laptop, over the internet. The free Home plan admits up to 4 player phones per game; paid plans and the 7-day trial have no phone limit. The screen sharing is done by your video call app, not by Quizado.
Copy the join link
Start a Trivia game. In the lobby, click the Players code in the top bar, or the link on the Player Code card. The join link is copied.
Send it to your players
Paste the link into your group chat, email or the chat of your video call. Players open it in the browser of a phone or a laptop, wherever they are.
Players create their teams
Each player taps Create a team and types a team name, or joins a teammate's team. The team appears under Teams on your control panel.
Run the game as usual
Click Start Game and run each question with the main button. The questions and answer options show on every player's phone, so they can answer even when the call lags.
Tips
- A video call can lag by a few seconds. Give remote rounds a longer time limit in the round settings of your pack.
- Ask players to join with a phone and keep the call on a laptop or TV, so the call does not cover the answer buttons.
- Mixed nights work too: players in the room scan the QR code, and remote players use the link.
Questions
Do remote players need an app or an account?
No. They open the join link in any browser and type a team name.
Do players need to be on the venue's Wi-Fi?
No. The phones connect to Quizado over the internet, on any network or mobile data.
Which video call app should I use?
Any app that can share a window, such as Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams. Quizado does not need a special connection to it.
