Hosting an audience vote needs Starter or higher. A question you write yourself plays in a pack you wrote, and hosting your own pack needs Pro or Business. Anyone can vote: spectators need no account and no app.
Add an audience vote question
In Custom Questions, on the My questions tab, click New question and pick Audience vote as the question type. Type the question and the options. You mark no correct answer: the crowd decides.
Choose when the crowd votes
Start a game with a pack that has the question. In the lobby, next to Collect audience votes, keep Live, per question. Upfront survey collects every vote before the game starts instead.
Start the vote
When the question comes up, click Start audience vote. The game screen shows a QR code with Scan to vote and the audience code.
The audience votes on their phones
Spectators scan the QR code and tap an option. You see the votes come in on your host panel. The room does not see the split.
Close the vote
Click Close voting & continue. The top pick becomes the correct answer, then the teams answer the question on their phones.
Reveal the answer
Reveal the answer as usual. The game screen shows what the crowd picked and the teams that guessed it score.
Tips
- A tie at the top is fine: every option tied for the most votes counts as correct.
- Nobody voted? Click End vote without votes - nobody scores. The question then costs no team any points.
Questions
Does the audience need the app or an account?
No. They scan the QR code and vote in the phone browser.
Can the room see the votes before the reveal?
No. Only you see the tally on the host panel. The game screen shows the result when you reveal the answer.
Does Family Feud have audience votes too?
Yes. In Family Feud the votes set the points on the board. Jeopardy has no audience vote.
