How do Double Ups and Final Wager work? (Daily Double- and Final Jeopardy-style rounds)

A Double Up is a hidden tile: the team that finds it bets and plays the clue alone. Final Wager is one last clue after the board, and every team bets on it on paper.

Every plan

Captions are on the video.

Before you start

Both work on every plan, the free Home plan too. You set them in the QuizoParty lobby, under Settings, before the board opens. Final Wager needs a set with a final clue. Add one to your own set in the set editor with Add a final clue.

  1. Choose how many Double Ups

In the lobby, under Settings, select Change next to Double Ups and pick None, 1 or 2. The default is 1. Higher rows are more likely, and there are never two in one category.

  2. Turn on Final Wager

Under Final Wager, turn on Play Final Wager. If the set has no final clue, the page says This set has no final clue. Then select Start the game.

  3. Spot the Double Up

Your board marks the Double Up tile with two small stacked cards in its corner. Only you see this mark. The big screen shows a normal tile.

  4. Take the team's bet

When a team picks that tile, ask for its bet out loud and enter it, or pick Lowest, Half or All in. Then select Show the clue. Only that team plays it.

  5. Judge the answer

Select the Right button to add the bet, or the Wrong button to take it off. A wrong answer always costs the bet, whatever the Wrong answers setting.

  6. Play Final Wager

After the last tile, Final Wager opens. To finish early, select End Game, then Play Final Wager now. The big screen shows the category and what each team can bet. Each team writes its name and its bet on paper. Select Reveal the clue to show the clue and start the 30-second clock.

  7. Reveal the papers

Select Start the reveal. Teams come up lowest score first, the leader last. Enter each team's bet from its paper, then under Tap what they wrote select its answer. Select Next for the next team.

Tips

  • A team can bet from 5 up to its score or the top value on the board, whichever is higher. So a team at 0 can still bet.
  • In Final Wager a team bets from 0 up to its score. A team at 0 or less bets 0.
  • Final Wager is played on paper, so it needs no phones and works the same offline.

Questions

Can other teams buzz in on a Double Up?

No. Only the team that picked the tile plays it.

Why is Play Final Wager greyed out?

The set has no final clue. Open the set in the set editor and select Add a final clue: a category, the clue and its answer. A set has one final clue.

Can a team end Final Wager with a negative score?

Only if it was already below zero. A team can bet no more than its score, so a wrong answer takes it to 0 at the lowest.
