Captions are on the video. The video loads from YouTube when you press play.
The Speed Round comes with Family Face-Off and has no plan gate of its own. It plays when the set you pick has Speed Round questions. You mark them in your own survey set, and hosting a set you wrote needs Pro or Business.
Mark the Speed Round questions
Open your set under Custom Questions > Family Face-Off and select a survey question. Turn on Speed Round question, then select Save question. A set holds up to 5, and the counter shows how many are marked.
Keep the Speed Round on and set the target
Start a Family Face-Off game with the set. On Set your game, keep Play the Speed Round after the board on and check the Target points (200 by default). Then select Start Game.
Start the Speed Round after the board
Play the board as usual. After the last question, select Start the Speed Round. The team with the most points plays. If teams are tied for the lead, pick the team first.
Run player one
Select Start 20 s clock and read the questions to player one. For each answer, tap the matching survey answer, No match or Pass. A passed question comes back while time is left.
Run player two
Select Start player two, then Start 25 s clock. The big screen hides player one's answers. If player two repeats player one's answer, the app refuses it as a duplicate, so ask for another answer.
Reveal the answers and add the points
Select Reveal next to turn over player two's answers one by one while the total counts up. Then select Finish: the total adds to the team's score. If it reaches the target, the big screen shows a win moment.
Tips
- Open Game Screen before you start, so the room sees both players' answers, the total and the clock.
- Want to end the game without the bonus round? Select Skip to final standings instead of Start the Speed Round.
- Tapped the wrong answer? Select Undo in the top bar.
- Fewer than 5 Speed Round questions is fine. The round plays the ones you marked.
Questions
Who plays the Speed Round?
The team with the most points after the board sends two players. If teams are tied for the lead, you pick the team before player one starts.
What happens when the clock runs out?
The clock only stops the answers. Questions without an answer score nothing, and you go on to the next player or the reveal.
Why does the app refuse an answer from player two?
Player two cannot give the same answer as player one on the same question. The panel marks that answer with Player one said this. Ask the player for another answer and tap again.
What do the phones and the big screen show during the Speed Round?
Buzzer phones show Speed Round and the team that plays, and the buzzers are off. The big screen shows both players' answers with their points, the total, the target and the clock. It never shows the questions.
Can I turn the Speed Round off for one game?
Yes. On Set your game, turn off Play the Speed Round after the board. The game then ends after the board, like a set without Speed Round questions.
Does the Speed Round work offline?
Yes. The Speed Round is part of Family Face-Off, so it plays offline in the desktop app and in the iOS and Android host apps, like the rest of the game.
