Run a league with seasons and standings

Your venue has a league from the start. Every Trivia night counts in its current season, which adds up placement points across nights and crowns a champion.

Business plan

Before you start

Leagues are part of the Business plan. A Pro plan that already had leagues keeps them. On Home, Starter and Pro your nights still count: the Leagues page shows the top 3 teams and locks the rest of the table until you upgrade. A league belongs to your current venue.

  1. Open your venue's league

In the sidebar, click Leagues. Your venue's league is at the top, with the Default badge. Every Trivia night counts here by itself. The card shows the current season, the nights counted and the top 3 teams.

  2. Check the standings

Click Open standings. The table lists every team with its games and season points. Click Show on big screen to put the table on your game screen.

  3. Choose the season length

Go back to Leagues and click Settings on the card. Under Season length, pick Quarterly, Monthly or Manual. Quarterly is the default: a new season every 3 months. Click Save changes.

  4. Change the scoring

Under Seasons, click Edit next to the season. An Automatic season starts and ends on its own. Open Advanced scoring to set the points for each place, which games count and the minimum games a team needs to qualify. Click Save changes.

  5. Add a league of your own

Click Leagues, then New League. Type a name in League name and click Create league. Its League settings open. Click Add season if you want a season with your own dates.

  6. Count Family Face-Off and QuizoParty nights

Family Face-Off and QuizoParty nights never count by themselves. Open the season's standings and click Assign nights. Choose the nights that count, or click Include all in range.

Tips

  • After the first night of a season counts, New Game shows your league's leader and points under the games. Click it to open the league.
  • After each night, players see their team's place in the league on their phone and get a recap email. To stop the email, turn off Recap emails in the league's Settings.
  • An automatic season ends on its own, and the next Trivia night starts a new one. For a season you added, open it with Edit and click End season when it is over. This crowns the season champion.
  • To stop counting nights, open the default league's Settings and click Turn off under Turn off automatic league. The tables stay. Click Show archived on Leagues, then Turn on to count again.
  • To make another league the default, open its Settings and click Make default.

Questions

Why did my night not show up in the standings?

A Trivia night counts in the season that covers its date: in the league its pack is linked to, or else in your default league. A league set to Manual counts nights only in seasons you added. Family Face-Off and QuizoParty nights always need Assign nights.

Can I change the dates of an automatic season?

Yes. Click Edit on the season, then Change dates. Saving new dates makes it your own season, and the next Trivia night after it starts a new automatic season.

What do hosts on Home, Starter and Pro see?

Their nights count too. Leagues shows the top 3 teams of the current season and locks the rest. Business shows the full table and every past season, puts it on the big screen, and gives players their place on the phone and a recap email.

Can I count only a team's best nights?

Yes. Under Advanced scoring, set Count games to Best 12 instead of All games.
