How do I end a game, resume it later or move it to another device?

A live game does not end when you close the control panel. You can come back to it, host it from another device, or end it for the whole room.

Every plan

Captions are on the video.

Before you start

This works on every plan. Sign in with the same account on every device you want to host from.

  1. Step away from the game

Click Dashboard in the top bar, then Leave. The game stays open and the phones stay in their teams.

  2. Resume the game

Open New Game. The Live game in progress banner shows how many teams are still playing. Click Resume game to go back to the control panel.

  3. Take it over on another device

Sign in on the other laptop or tablet and open New Game. The banner says Hosted on another device. Click Take over, then Take over again to confirm. The players keep the same code.

  4. Take it back if you need to

The first device now shows Another device controls this game. Click Take control back to move the game back to it.

  5. End the game

Click End Game at the top right of the control panel and confirm with End Game. The final standings go up on every screen. You cannot undo this.

Tips

  • You can also end a live game from its banner on New Game: click End Game there and confirm.
  • While the game is still in its lobby, End Game in the top bar closes the lobby and lets every phone go.
  • Every game you end is saved under History with its standings.

Questions

I closed my browser by mistake. Is the game lost?

No. Sign in again and open New Game. The Live game in progress banner offers Resume game, and History shows the game with a Resume button.

Do players need to join again after I switch devices?

No. Taking over moves the host controls and the join code to the new device. The phones stay in their teams.

Can two devices host the same game at once?

No. Only one device controls a game. The device that took over controls it. The other device keeps its game screen running, and its host panel waits until you click Take control back.
