Knockout is a round type in Trivia. You can pick it on every plan. Set a round to Knockout in the pack builder under Edit round settings, then start a game with that pack.
Start the Knockout round
On the host panel, start the round. Every team is in. Each phone shows the rule: a wrong answer or no answer ends the round for that team, and no points are lost.
A wrong answer puts a team out
Reveal the answer. A team that answered wrong, or did not answer, is out. Its row under Scores shows Out, and its phone shows You're knocked out! A right answer scores the points of the question.
The team sits out the rest of the round
On the next questions, the phone of a team that is out shows the question and the standings, but no answer buttons. The team is still in the game and keeps its score.
The round ends when one team or none is left
The panel then shows that the round is over. Click End round - show standings to move on. To play the questions that are left with everyone, click Revive all and continue first.
Every team is back in the next round
Start the next round. You do not need to do anything: every team that was out can answer again.
Tips
- A Knockout costs no points. There is no penalty for a wrong answer and no bonus for the last team.
- A team you let in after answering closed is not out for that question. It had no chance to answer, so it plays on.
- On the last question of the round, the revive button reads Put everyone back in.
- Revive all and continue brings back every team that is out. It does not change any score.
- Every question type knocks out: an open answer you mark wrong, a less popular pick on a Majority question and a partly right answer are out too.
Questions
Is a knocked-out team removed from the game?
No. It stays connected and keeps its score. It only sits out the rest of the Knockout round. To take a team out of the game for good, use Remove team.
Do I have to bring teams back for the next round?
No. When you start the next round, every team is back in by itself.
Can I bring back only one team?
No. Revive all and continue puts every team that is out back in at once.
