You can run a Trivia night on every plan, including the free Home plan. Home gives you the free packs, up to 4 player phones and 2 game starts in any 24 hours. For a busy room like the one in the video (8 teams), use a paid plan or the 7-day trial: they have no phone limit. Premium packs need Starter, and hosting your own pack needs Pro.
- Chapter 1
Choose your questions
In the sidebar, click New Game, then Trivia. Pick a ready-made pack under Question Packs, or your own pack under Custom Packs. A good night mixes round types: an easy warm-up, a picture round and a big finale.
- Chapter 2
Open the lobby and the big screen
Under Review & launch, keep Start now and click Start game. Then click Game Screen in the top bar and move the new window to your TV or projector. It shows the join QR code in big letters.
- Chapter 3
Teams join on their phones
Players scan the QR code, type a team name and they are in. No app, no account. Each team pops up under Teams on your panel and on the big screen, so the room sees who is playing.
- Chapter 4
Kick off the first round
Click Start Game, then Start: with the first round name. The question goes up on the big screen and the answers go to every phone. In an Everyone Scores round, every team with the right answer gets the points.
- Chapter 5
Lock, reveal and score
Watch the answers come in on your panel. Click Lock Answers, then Reveal Answer: the big screen shows the right answer and Quizado adds the points. Next Question moves on. The space bar does the same.
- Chapter 6
Show the scores between rounds
At the end of a round, the big screen shows the standings with the points each team won in that round, and what the next round is. Give the room a moment to cheer, then click Start Next Round: with the next round name.
- Chapter 7
Change the pace with a picture round
A different round type keeps the night fresh. In a Fastest Finger round, only the fastest team with the right answer scores. Picture questions show the picture on the big screen, and teams answer on their phones.
- Chapter 8
Finish with a wager round
In a Wager round, each team bets part of the points on its phone before the question. Click Lock Wagers when the bets are in, then run the question. A right answer wins the bet, a wrong one loses it, so the lead can change on the last question.
- Chapter 9
Crown the winner
After the last question, click Finish Game. The big screen plays the podium and shows the Final Standings, and every phone shows its team's final score. If two teams tie for first, the final screen offers Play a tie-break.
- Chapter 10
Share the recap
Click View Summary to see the winner, the standings and how each question went. Click Share to post the results, and download the recap video for your social media when it is ready. Every game is also saved under History.
Tips
- Plan about 20 to 30 minutes per round of 10 questions. Three or four rounds with a break in the middle make a comfortable evening.
- Read each question out loud while it is on the screen. It keeps the room together and gives slower teams a fair chance.
- Save a wager round for the end. Teams at the back of the table can still win, so nobody gives up early.
- Announce the prizes before the first question and hand them out right after the podium, while the room is still watching.
- Do a short test the day before: open the Game Screen on the venue TV and join from your own phone.
Questions
Do players need an app?
No. Players join in their phone browser with the QR code or the code on the screen. They only type a team name.
Can Quizado run the night for me?
Yes. In the lobby, click Start with Auto-Host. Quizado opens each question, runs the clock, locks, reveals and moves on by itself. It does not read the questions aloud.
What happens if two teams tie for first place?
The final screen says It's a Tie! and offers Play a tie-break: one sudden-death question that only the tied teams answer. You can also name them joint winners.
How many teams can play?
On the free Home plan, up to 4 player phones per game. Paid plans and the 7-day trial have no phone limit.
