Venue details, the join word, themes and scheduling work on every plan, including the free Home plan. Your logo on the big screen and leagues need Pro or Business. A big-screen background and the Custom theme need Business. One venue is included on every plan.
- Chapter 1
Name your venue
In the sidebar, click Settings, then click your venue under Venues. Type the name under Venue name and pick your Country, so the Time zone fills in. Players, big screens and shared results pages all show this name.
- Chapter 2
Pick a join word
Under Player join link, type a short word, such as your venue name. Players will join at: shows the link. It opens whatever game your venue runs tonight, so you print it once on table cards and posters and never change it again.
- Chapter 3
Set your regular night
Under Regular night, click the day you host and set the Start time. From now on, when you schedule a game at this venue, the date and time are already filled in. One less thing to think about each week.
- Chapter 4
Add your logo
Under Venue logo, click Upload logo. Your logo shows on the big screen and on every phone that joins, so the night feels like yours, not like an app. A PNG with a transparent background looks best.
- Chapter 5
Choose the big-screen look
Under your venue in the settings sidebar, click Game screen, then pick a Theme. The Example look preview shows what the room will see before anyone walks in.
- Chapter 6
Put the night on the calendar
Click New Game, choose Trivia and a pack, then click Schedule under Review & launch. The Date and Time already match your regular night, so click Schedule game. The Calendar shows it under Planned Games, ready to open with one click on the night.
- Chapter 7
Start a league
In the sidebar, click Leagues, then New League. Name it, click Create league, then Add season with a Start date and an End date. Under Advanced scoring, choose how many games a team needs to qualify, then click Save & Activate.
- Chapter 8
Count the nights
Open the league's Standings and click Assign nights, then Include all in range. Every finished night in the season's dates now counts. Link your own Trivia pack to the league and its nights count by themselves.
- Chapter 9
Show the standings to the room
Click Show on big screen. Every game screen at your venue shows the season table, in your theme. Put it up before the first question and at the break: nothing brings a team back next week like seeing itself one place behind the leaders.
Tips
- Keep the same day, time and join word every week. Regulars plan around a night they can remember.
- Show the league standings while teams arrive and again at the end. The table does the selling for you.
- Announce the season length at the start, for example 12 weeks, and give a prize to the season champion as well as to each night's winner.
- Put the join link on table cards, and the date of the next night on the big screen or on a poster by the bar.
Questions
Do I have to set all of this up before my first night?
No. You can start a game with the defaults and add the name, join word, logo and league later. A league can also count nights you played before you made it, if they fall inside the season's dates. Add them with Assign nights.
Which plan do I need for a weekly night?
The venue, the join word, themes and scheduling work on every plan. Your logo on the big screen and leagues need Pro or Business. A big-screen background needs Business.
Does a scheduled night start by itself?
No. On the night, click the scheduled game on New Game, or Play Now on its Calendar day. The lobby opens and teams join with your join word.
What happens when the season ends?
Click End season on the league's season list. That crowns the season champion, and you can add the next season to the same league.
