Jeopardy plays online on every plan, the free Home plan too, and the free boards play in full. Premium packs need Starter, and hosting a board you wrote yourself needs Pro. Up to 4 teams play. Phones are optional and only work as buzzers.
- Chapter 1
Pick a board
Select New Game in the sidebar, then the Jeopardy card. Under Add your questions, pick a board from Question Packs, then select Start game. Quiz Board Basics is free and ready to play: five categories, easy clues at the top, hard ones at the bottom.
- Chapter 2
Split the room into teams
Two teams are ready to go. Select a team's name to rename it, and select Add Team for a third or a fourth. Fun names make the scoreboard worth watching, so let each table pick its own.
- Chapter 3
Choose how the night plays
Under Play style, pick Options on screen for a friendly night where teams choose from the answers on screen, or TV mode for the real thing: the clue only, answers out loud. Under Wrong answers, Cost the clue value makes guessing risky. Keep one Daily Doubles tile and Play Final Jeopardy on, then select Start the game.
- Chapter 4
Add phone buzzers, if you want them
Select Connect Remote in the top bar and let a player scan the QR code. On the phone, they choose Buzzer. One phone per table is plenty. No phones? Listen for the first hand up and pick the team yourself.
- Chapter 5
Put the board on the big screen
Select Game Screen in the top bar and move the window to the TV or projector. The room sees the categories. Read them out, then let the teams buzz for the first pick, or select a team under Pick who starts.
- Chapter 6
Open a clue and judge the answer
The team in control calls a category and a value, and you select that tile. The clue fills the big screen. The first team to buzz answers out loud. Select Correct +600 on its card, and the points land. Select Back to board, and the winner picks next.
- Chapter 7
A wrong answer opens a rebound
When a team gets it wrong, select Wrong -200 on its card. With Cost the clue value, the team loses the points and is locked out of that clue. The other teams can still steal it, so the clue stays open until someone gets it or you reveal it.
- Chapter 8
Hit the Daily Double
Only your board shows the DD mark. When a team lands on it, the room finds out with a big reveal. Ask for the bet out loud, enter it or pick True Daily Double, then select Show the clue. The team plays alone, and Right adds the whole bet.
- Chapter 9
Play Final Jeopardy
Final Jeopardy opens after the last tile. Short on time? Select End Game, then Play Final Jeopardy now. The big screen shows the category and each team writes its bet on paper. Select Reveal the clue to start the 30-second clock, then collect the papers.
- Chapter 10
Reveal the papers, lowest score first
Select Start the reveal. Teams come up lowest score first, the leader last. Enter each bet, then select Right or Wrong. Every reveal lands on the big screen at once, and one brave bet can turn the whole night.
- Chapter 11
Crown the winner
Select Finish the night. The big screen shows the Winner and the Final Standings. Select Play Again for a rematch with the same teams, or View Summary for the recap of the night.
Tips
- Read every clue out loud, even with the big screen on. It sets the pace and gives the back of the room a fair chance.
- Keep a short pause after each clue before you take a buzz. The room loves the race, and a false start is easy to judge.
- In TV mode, the answers on your panel are your answer key. Accept close answers the same way all night, and tell the room your rule at the start.
- Keep Final Jeopardy even on a short night. Select End Game after a few rows, and the finish still feels big.
Questions
Do players need the app or an account?
No. Teams answer out loud and you judge from your panel. Phones are optional: a player opens the Connect Remote link in a browser and chooses Buzzer.
How many teams can play?
Up to 4 teams. A team can be any size, so a big room splits into four tables.
What is the difference between Options on screen and TV mode?
With Options on screen, the big screen shows the possible answers under each clue and a team names one. With TV mode, the big screen shows the clue only and teams answer out loud, like on the TV show.
Why can I not turn on Final Jeopardy?
The board has no final clue. Open your own set in the set editor and select Add a final clue.
